Nashua machines were used.
The new printers are Xerox machines. These machines can be used to print, scan and copy.
The Nashua printers did not require a PIN code.
You will be prompted to create a PIN code the first time you access the new Xerox printers. You will use this code each time to release your print jobs.
Nashua machines used Equitrac printing software.
You will need to install the Papercut software to use Xerox machines.
You were unable to print if you left your staff or student card at home.
The new printers allow you to still print even if you don't have your card on you. Simply log on with your UCT username and password.
You were required to enter your details every time you printed a document with the old system.
You need only enter your details once (per login session on your PC) to print documents.
You could select which printers to use for colour and black and white print jobs
The default print setting is black and white. You need to adjust your settings in Printer Properties to print in colour.
